About Holmswood Asset Finance
Twenty years of getting finance over the line
We started Holmswood because SME owners deserve the same quality of finance advice as the corporates — and a lot of them were not getting it.

Our story
Why we do it this way
Asset finance is not complicated, but it is made to feel that way. Applications that go into a portal and come back a fortnight later. A different name on every email. Rates quoted without the fees that sit behind them. Small businesses put up with all of it because they assume that is simply how finance works.
It is not. Over twenty years in this trade we have learned that most deals are won or lost on two things: knowing which funder actually wants that asset, and getting a straight answer back to the customer quickly. Everything else is process, and process is our problem, not yours.
So Holmswood is deliberately built small and direct. You speak to the person doing the work. You get told what something costs before you commit to it. And if the answer is no, you hear it early enough to do something about it.
How we work
What “one call, no fuss” actually means
- One person, start to finish. The person who takes your first call is the person who arranges the deal and the person who picks up when you ring back in two years.
- We do the chasing. Funder queries, supplier invoices, proof of delivery, insurance confirmations — that is our paperwork to run down, not yours.
- One document list, once. We tell you everything we need at the start rather than coming back to you four times.
- Straight answers, including the unwelcome ones. If a deal is wrong for you, or the numbers do not stack up, you will hear it from us plainly.

Transparency
How we get paid
We are a broker, not a lender. In most cases the funder pays us a commission when a deal completes, and on some arrangements we charge the customer a fee instead. Either way you will be told what we are being paid and by whom before you sign anything — not buried in a document, said out loud.
We think that matters. A broker who will not tell you how they earn has a reason for not telling you. Ours is simple: we get paid when a deal completes, which is why we would rather tell you early that a deal is not right than take you through six weeks of process to find out.
In plain terms: we are a credit broker, not a lender. The funder usually pays us a commission on completion; occasionally we charge you a fee instead. You will know which, and how much, before you sign.
Our promise
What we will not do
- Quote a rate without the fees. The number we give you is the number you can compare.
- Put your application out to twenty lenders. Scattergun searches damage your credit profile. We go to the funders that fit.
- Push you towards the product that pays us most. If hire purchase is right, we will say hire purchase, even when a lease would earn more.
- Disappear after the payout. Settlement figures, renewals, mid-term changes — same number, same person.
